NHL 2k11 is the best sports game on the iPhone/iPod Touch. At 2 dollars, it is also the best value and if you have even an iota of interest in hockey I urge you to make the purchase. In fact, the controls, the graphics and the functionality add up to this game being one of the top iPhone/ipod Touch games of 2010. Incredibly there was little fanfare or discussion about this game before it was released earlier this week. For you nonbelievers or people who don't value written reviews, try out the free NHL 2k11 lite version and become a believer. This game is awesome...

A game with the look and the feel of Hook Champ with the ability to flip gravity at the tap of a button - I have just described Gravity Runner, a new release from distinctly named developer, We Are Colin. The unique gameplay makes the game fun and the heft of 50 missions gives you a ton of gameplay. Sometimes games like these rely too much on automatically generated terrain but this game gives you developer created levels that take each and every object placement into account...

Finally, an iPhone 4 exclusive game, Flip It! Gyro, has made it through our email doorway. This game uses the specific capabilities of the iPhone 4, such as the gyroscope, for all of its gameplay. While it’s not used to amazing effect, it’s nice to see it being used at all...

Somehow d' ART combines interesting paintings/drawings with a fantastic interface to make a great jigsaw puzzle game for your iPhone despite the devices lacking screen real estate. In fact, the interface works so well that it almost makes the jigsaw puzzles too easy to solve...

Is Geometrix an action game? Is it a puzzle title? Does it belong in the list of free apps rather than the paid ones? Only one of these questions deserves a whole hearted “yes,” which is disappointing to say the least. Word jumble mania! While it’s certainly not an entirely fresh concept, Drewse concocted their own little spin on a nearly timeless classic puzzle format, along with a couple of twists and turns. There’s something to be said for inexpensive, straightforward titles, and Jumbled hits the mark as far as world puzzles go. Sure, there might already be an avalanche of similar games, but this isn’t just a rehash of Hangman or a crossword puzzle, but something pretty entertaining...

The one word I would use to describe Stick Golf HD is addictive. I wasn’t even supposed to review this game. I had to fly for work and wanted a game just to burn some time while I was being laid over. I’m a golfer and was in a golfing mood so I figured I would see what golf games were out there that I haven’t heard of and I stumbled on Stick Golf HD. It was $2.99. Personally I get weary of games that are over $0.99. So I did a little research (like any good buyer - that’s why you’re here right?). Most of the articles I read were good and the iTunes reviews were also good, so I went for it...

NinJump is the newest creation out of prolific developer, Backflip Studios. In another nod to freemium gaming, you’ll find the ad-supported NinJump on the App Store for the very low price of free. You do have the option of removing the ads for a buck but the iAds are fairly unobtrusive and playing with them should not cause you any issues. This game makes Ninjatown: Trees of Doom seem slow and outdated…and I really like it...
