If you have read any of my previous reviews dealing with matching games, you know that I usually don't care for them. In fact, Match 3 and 4 games are the bane of my existence. That's why it’s so surprising when a game like Flipstones comes around. Though there is a great deal of matching to do, the unique way you do it makes it a great deal of fun. Unfortunately, this game is not without its problems...

Townsfolk versus Zombies. Mild mannered people pitted against the rotting carrion of the undead. Grab the nearest torch or club and prepare to smash the enemy while defending the leader of your group in this latest mobile title from Behold Studios. The Gravedigger allows players to choose their team and enter the trenches of a local town to wage war in a real time strategy format. Although not without a couple hiccups, this is a decent breakthrough into the genre which actually dares to venture past the landlocked tower defense setup...

Alright, so who spent some time at one point or another playing the Quoridor board game? For the uninitiated, Quoridor was a popular game throughout the 90s, winning a number of awards during its prime, which was translated into the 2000s through an online format. Simiula took on the challenge of porting this onto the iPod for puzzle and board game enthusiasts, in an attempt to capture the fun and excitement generated by the innovative original. While the entertaining concept is still there, an overall rigid feel which spreads from graphics to controls takes away from what should be pretty simple enjoyment...

Marbles. It’s fun for the whole family, enjoyable for nearly everyone, and simple enough to wrap your head around the concept in about 30 seconds. Enter Marble Mixer, a multiplayer title with three separate games jammed into one app to keep you shooting marbles all over the place like you don’t even own that high definition flat screen TV or overpriced Macbook Pro. Okay, well you’re playing it on an iPhone so let’s not get quite so carried away...

Freaking Inkies is probably the most colorfully fun, shooter-based iPad game I have ever played. The back story is that you have a library of books and these Inkies, those freaking Inkies, are trying to ruin and write all over the pages. To protect your books you have to eliminate those Inkies by shooting them with a color ball that matches their color, yellow for yellow, red for red and so on...

Ping Ping is kind of like bar room shuffleboard. Have you ever played it? The idea is that you slide several puck-like objects across a long piece of wood trying to land it in your competitor’s area. The difference in Ping Ping is that instead of trying to land it in a certain area of the board, you are trying to knock your opponent’s pucks off the board entirely. That would all be fine and good if it wasn't for one thing - it's incredibly boring to play the computer...

Let's Golf 2 may be a Hot Shots Golf clone but who cares? It’s awesome. From the crystal clear graphics to the perfect golf course settings, this game is a sure bet to hold even the amateur video game golfer’s attention. The graphics in particular look absolutely outstanding on my iPhone 4 and better yet, show no noticeable slowdown despite the higher quality...

Predator is one of my favorite movies of all time. Predator 2 wasn't quite as good but still, it was pretty badass. However, the movies that used the Predator name following those first 2 sucked. I haven't watch the newest movie but having just played the iPhone and iPod Touch game, Predators, I can tell you one thing for sure - it is a whole lot like the first two movies – in other words, it’s awesome. The gratuitous blood, killing and weapons make this everything a Predator game should be...

Slingshot Safari is surprisingly fun. In fact, it’s really wonderful and I guarantee would be a huge hit with any kids you have. The colors, the animals and even the sound and music are all of the highest quality. I say surprising because of the mechanics of its gameplay is completely based upon pulling back a slingshot and shooting some prey (don’t worry, no blood and no real animals killed). However, due to the diversity and settings, this simple gameplay never gets boring. In fact, the main problem with Slingshot Safari is that it ends too soon...

Malum Umbra is one spooky, unusual ride. The name alone should tell you something about this game, it’s unique and its developers don't care how hard it is to market on the App Store. Just kidding guys. But in all seriousness, this is an indie developed 3d first person shoot...well not exactly shooter that looks great and has nice controls. The music, though overused, is absolutely stunning...

When I first got the email asking me to review King’s Cup I honestly didn’t think it would be THAT King’s, you know the drinking game. I figured it was a dungeon game where you play as a king and you are on a quest to recover the Holy Grail. Nope, it’s the drinking game. As college grad and a beer drinker I am all too familiar with the King’s game. If you cannot be described as a beer drinker then this game and this review are certainly not intended for you...

Brick Breaker-type games have been out, perhaps, since the time of the dinosaur. There are probably thousands of variations for each platform. Ok, Atari released the first Brick Breaker game in 1976, four years after Pong. But, I bet I’m right about the thousands of variations...
