Doodle Run

By |2011-07-10T23:16:02-05:00March 14, 2010|iPhone Reviews|

Doodle Run is a 2D game where you try to survive as long as possible. You don't actually control the "Dude" (the game's character). Instead you manipulate the game's environment. By that I mean that the background is movable. As the Dude walks forward you control the "paper" backgrounds by sliding them up and down. To make the Dude jump you slide the background up and quickly pull it down. You will have to make the Dude jump to avoid the game's obstacles including comets, zombies, and worms...

Neurosis will keep you busy for hours and hours. There are 100 levels and you will need to replay each level multiple times if you really want to unlock the three secondary goals for each one. Just beware, the secondary goals really are challenging. Puzzle games are ubiquitous on the App Store but this one really stands out from the rest...

Alice in Wonderland

By |2011-07-10T23:16:34-05:00March 6, 2010|iPhone Reviews|

This is not your mom's Alice in Wonderland. This is a game based on a very old story that has been through the mind of Tim Burton. I'm sure you are familiar with Tim Burton, the director of Batman, Edward Scissorhands, and Beetlejuice, just to name a few. If you know anything about Tim Burton then you know he is a very innovative director that tends to see things in a much bigger, sometimes much scarier way. Alice in Wonderland is no different. The game has a creepy, yet playful vibe that keeps you locked into the game play...

GeoSnake

GeoSnake is a new iPhone/iPod Touch take on the old snake game that everyone knows. Maybe you first played it on a graphic calculator (Editor: I first played it on Q-Basic). You know the one where you control a snake and collect objects or dots and as you collect more items, your snake grows...

Absorb

By |2011-07-10T23:17:04-05:00March 3, 2010|iPhone Reviews|

Absorb is a motion puzzler (I think I just made that up) where you must "absorb" colored orbs into its matching color gate. Orbs are randomly generated off screen and slowly move on screen. You control the orbs by tapping, dragging, and releasing. Think of a sling shot...

Angry Birds

By |2011-07-10T23:17:14-05:00February 28, 2010|iPhone Reviews|

Angry Birds is an iPhone/iPod Touch physics based game where you slingshot birds and try to take out enemy pigs. Despite sounding strange, it also probably sounds pretty easy. That is not the case at all. Precision and accuracy are mandatory in later levels. As the game progresses the pigs start wearing helmets and hide behind multiple layers of wood, stone, and glass. But have no fear...

Rocket Downhill Penguin

By |2011-07-10T23:17:28-05:00February 25, 2010|iPhone Reviews|

I was visiting my parents this weekend so I had my mom play and she loved it. She screamed and laughed and played for quite a while. Now keep in mind this is a woman who tried to make Mario, in the original Super Mario Brothers, jump by holding the controller over her head. She’s not a videogame player...
