Ticket to Ride

My first impressions of Ticket to Ride were not good. The menu graphics seemed hokey; they are all still-frames that look like oil paintings. Once you tap on a link to another menu the next menu slides in to frame. This whole time the train conductor is voicing over each screen with the options that you have just activated...

NFL 2011

By |2011-07-10T23:05:14-05:00August 9, 2010|iPhone Reviews|

Gameloft's newest effort, NFL 2011, falls fall short of my expectations when it comes to progressing from the game's first iteration. That being said, can it stand on its own as a good football game in its own right despite its lack of progress since its inaugural version in 2009? Unfortunately no. This game fails as both an upgrade and a football game in quite a few ways, many of which are fixable...

SimCity Deluxe

SimCity Deluxe offers a bunch of additions over its predecessor that brings this version much closer Simcity 4 on the PC or Mac. The graphics, along with the functionality, have been upgraded and really add to the longevity of the gameplay. If you never played the first version of SimCity on the iPhone and iPod Touch, you missed out on a pretty good game. That being said, this version is really a whole lot better. Still, it will likely be a tough decision for some of you that purchased the first edition. While obvious improvements have been made across the board, it's still just SimCity...

First of all let me clarify, this is not a review for the HD version of the game. That version is just for the iPhone 4 and has upgraded graphics. This version is will work on iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4 and iPod Touch. The HD version has been causing issues in the App Store and hasn’t been getting good reviews because of the slow, jerky graphics...

Split/Second

Disney’s latest title, Split/Second delivers an experience unlike almost any Disney game before it. Like the action intense movies that have recently defined Disney's Hollywood lineup, Split/Second is exciting, fast and not necessarily made for kids. This title has the honor of being released at the same time as its console counterparts on the XBOX 360 and Playstation 3...

Skate It

By |2011-07-10T23:12:38-05:00May 14, 2010|iPhone Reviews|

Extreme sports and skateboarding sim enthusiasts, brace yourselves; as the revolutionary console game has finally been adapted for your mobile device. Realistic graphics, authentic skaters and brands, and a 12 song soundtrack are just some of the items to look forward to in the latest Electronic Arts iPod title. Using a similar control system to the console version, Skate It relies on a “flick it” system for tricks, which is highly unique, but not exactly the easiest thing to master...
