JellyCar 2 is an iPhone/iPod Touch game that is a ton of fun. It’s a side scrolling car game but instead of racing against other cars, you race against the clock. JellyCar 2 has four different modes; Classic Mode, Factory Mode, Long Jump Mode and Custom Mode. Each mode brings its own fun, thrills, and challenges.
In Classic Mode you choose the level of difficulty you would like to play and then choose from 11 different courses. These levels are each unique in a variety of ways. You go through the levels and collect the different tokens that will also allow you to stick to the walls. This will help you complete the level in a timely manner. With so many different tracks, Classic Mode alone with keep you entertained for awhile.
Factory Mode is entirely different from classic mode. Here you use several different levers to manipulate a funnel that shoots out game pieces. The object of the game is to get a game piece that comes out of the funnel to its proper place. You do this by switching the levers in different directions. As you go on the speed increases and the gameplay becomes a bit tougher. It’s not quite Tetris, but you will have to be on your toes, especially as the game goes on.
In Long Jump Mode you are back in your car and trying to jump as far as you. Before the jump, you still have to go through a short course. This course will have different objects to slow you down before you even make it to the jumping point. If you can stay on 4 wheels the entire time you will get through quickly and be able to have a very long jump!
In Custom Mode you are able to change everything including the color of your car, tires and the level itself. You can even create a new level. This really brings the whole game together because after you have beat everything you can just keep going in an ever changing landscape! Any time a developer gives you an easy to use, level editor, a game’s replay value really goes through the roof.
All and all this is one of the best iPhone/iPod Touch games I’ve ever played. I never got bored or annoyed with it. Disney really has managed to make a simplistic driving game into one of the finest games on the App Store. At .99 cents, this is a must have for kids and adults alike.
