An announcement made 9/24/2010 at Target Headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota stated that the super store chain will begin carrying iPads on October 3rd.

The stores will carry all six versions of the iPad, 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB of the WiFi and the three in the same storage sizes of the 3-G and WiFi.

Target has been an Apple reseller for quite some time with iPod lineup but with this new development Apple and Target have seemly grown their relationship.

The iPad is not a stranger to resellers. Some Best Buys have had them for a few months now but starting early next week Best Buy will expand the iPad sales to all stores.

Does this change where you will buy your iPad? What about Wal-Mart?  Wal-Mart already sells the iPhone why not the iPad?

Editor:   The spin on this one is that Apple hopes to sell an upwards of 20 million iPads and the best way to do it is to bring it to as many stores as possible.  It may be hard to believe for you city folks/suburbanites but not city in the nation has a Best Buy/Apple store.  I think it will be interesting if in the future one of Apple’s tablet/pad competitors brings their product to Wal Mart.
