The iPhone 4G/iPhone HD – Not Coming to Sprint, Maybe Verizon

By |2010-03-25T09:15:33-05:00March 25, 2010|Features|

With Sprint's announcement yesterday (3/24/2010) of the first 4G phone stateside, the new playing field was set. Offering much higher download speeds, the HTC Evo 4g, is the first 4G handset that has been announced by a major US carrier. The phone itself isn't half bad either. A Google Android-based OS with a 4.3 inch screen, a Micro SD card slot that’s capacity is up to 32 GB, and an 8.3 megapixel camera make it a formidable foe...

Karnac Attack

By |2011-07-10T23:15:22-05:00March 24, 2010|iPhone Reviews|

Karnak Attack is an iPhone and iPod Touch 3D first person shooter set in an Egyptian-themed world. The object of the game is to collect as much gold as possible and find the Pharaoh’s gold head (which usually is close to the portal to the next level). Your weapons of choice are a machine gun, a shotgun, and a super weapon...

Final Fantasy

By |2011-07-10T23:15:31-05:00March 22, 2010|iPhone Reviews|

Final Fantasy made its way to the iPhone and iPod Touch world late last month. This version is based on the PSP game of the same name, not the NES version from 1987 (1990 US release). Without a doubt there have been a tremendous number of advances since its first iteration. I'll skip the story and the pretense. If you’re reading this review you know all about the series and how popular it has been. You probably are already playing Final Fantasy 13...

Peggle

By |2011-07-10T23:15:36-05:00March 22, 2010|iPhone Reviews|

In case you missed it last year, Peggle is a one of a kind iPhone and iPod Touch gaming experience. I have been holding off on the review because I have been trying to think of a way to best describe it. Basically you shoot a ball out of a cannon towards a series of pegs that as are grouped in a variety of manners...

Are Civilization 5 and Command and Conquer 4 – iPad Bound?

By |2010-03-20T13:05:59-05:00March 20, 2010|Features|

There are 3 different genres of games that I think we will see come to and/or be improved by the iPad. These games don't really work as well on an iPhone or iPod Touch. The reason, the screen is simply too small and there are too many things going on. In fact, many of these types of games that have been released on the App Store in the past really are more complicated than a 3 inch handheld allows. With the iPad’s larger screen, you not only have a much larger visual but you also have a lot more room for virtual controls...

3bot Preview for iPhone and iPod Touch

By |2010-03-24T16:34:43-05:00March 19, 2010|Previews, Videos|

3bot is described as a 3d action/puzzle game. Based on some of the videos, this looks like something new and unique coming to the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch in the near future. No word on when it is coming but my bet is on it likely being released on or near the release of the iPad (April 4)...

Transformers: G1 Awakening

By |2011-07-10T23:15:41-05:00March 19, 2010|iPhone Reviews|

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, and David the Gnome pretty much sums up the cartoons I grew up on. And yes, I did (do) have Transformers bed sheets. So when I got a chance to review the new Transformers game for the iPhone and iPod Touch I jumped all over it. When I first downloaded the game I didn’t know what to expect. I hadn’t really read anything about it or even seen any screenshots...

SimCity Deluxe Preview (Now with SimCity 4 Graphics)

By |2010-03-18T15:38:55-05:00March 18, 2010|Previews|

SimCity Deluxe was announced for the iPhone/iPod Touch today. One of my all time favorite gaming franchises will feature updated graphics, smoother gameplay and a ton of new content. This will be the second time SimCity hits the App Store. It's initial release was well very well received and had millions of downloads...
